So we finally went exploring this weekend and decided for our first exploration around our new neighborhood to find a fun hiking trail, and boy is it a fun one!
If you’re looking for a great trail to either hike or mountain bike on the North Shore Trail is a great one.
It goes for about 9 to 10 miles from Rockledge Park to Twin Coves Park on the north side of Lake Grapevine, and has beautiful views of the lake from it’s cliffs and shores. The trail is mostly shaded as you are winding through the wooded areas of the lake and offers a moderate challenge with it’s hills and rocks, but all in all it’s not that difficult for most people who are hiking, but if you’re a mountain biker it’s probably a bit more challenging as some of the hills are really steep and the terrain a bit sketchy at times.
It can be dangerous for the hiker as some of the mountain biker’s are moving at high speeds, but as long as you keep your eyes and ears open and move out of their way you should be fine. I wouldn’t recommend bringing small children to hike on the trail for this reason.
The fee to get in the park is $5 per vehicle, but if you park outside of the park it’s only $1 per person to enter.
Now here are some lovely pictures for your enjoyment:
Until next time…
Very pretty. Glad you guys are exploring!
